Mission Statement
From its inception, Aspect/Ratio Projects has been committed to advocating for and supporting a diverse group of emerging and midcareer contemporary artists. We firmly believe in a collaborative approach with our artists, our fellow galleries, institutions and organizations that support a sense of community in the arts. Our basic foundation is putting artists first in order to foster the growth of their careers and a meaningful relationship with collectors and the arts community. We strongly believe that the arts should be accessible to all and we make every effort to that end, by encouraging individuals to learn about contemporary art in an open and accepting fashion.
About
Aspect/Ratio Projects was founded in 2012 as a commercial gallery for international emerging video artists. Slowly the program grew to incorporate artists that not only worked in video, but across other mediums as well. In 2017, Aspect/Ratio Projects relocated from our West Loop space to West Town in Chicago allowing us to refine and expand our program to include conceptual painting, sculpture and photography. Aspect/Ratio Projects is proud to work with gallery artists and other artists on special projects that allow them to take risks and expand their practice and visibility in Chicago.
Aspect/Ratio Projects represents the careers of Adam Daley Wilson, Alejandro Figueredo Diaz-Perera, Cameron Gainer, Casilda Sanchez, Chris Larsen, Derrick Woods-Morrow, Desiree Holman, Einat Amir, Guy Ben-Ner, Iris Bernblum, Jean Alexander Frater, Jovan Speller, Nick Albertson, Orr Menirom, Rob Fischer, and Sharon Louden.
Along with being recognized in major publications, our gallery artists have been exhibited internationally at many major institutions, including: The Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Israel Museum, The Tate Modern, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The New Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago, Sculpture Center, and La Panera Art Center, among others.
Aspect/Ratio Projects is currently not accepting unsolicited submissions.
