Xavier Cha was born in Los Angeles and currently lives and works in New York. She received a B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design and an M.F.A. from the University of California Los Angeles. She has recently exhibited and performed in New York, at the Whitney Museum of American Art, in Philadelphia, at the Institute of Contemporary Art, and at the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis. Her work has been included in group shows at The Kitchen in N.Y., the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and the Sculpture Center in N.Y. In 2012, she was awarded a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Interdisciplinary Work. She completed a residency at the de la Cruz Collection in 2011.
